TNO recently published a report on behalf of Top Sector Logistics Connekt on the “reduction potential of the environmental and climate impact of inland shipping”. This is based on monitoring data from various inland vessels over a long period of time.
Here are some confrontational conclusions:
– The measurements provide values that are often a factor of TWO TO THREE HIGHER than the common figures for fuel consumption and CO2 according to, among others, GLEC
– Large combustion engines, selected on the basis of peak power demand, which rarely occurs, lead to significant extra consumption: up to 17% extra!
– Idling leads to significantly higher consumption, therefore higher emissions & costs than previously assumed
The use of our Nexus #hydrogenpowerpack leads to substantial savings on consumption and costs TODAY!
